Advancing Sustainable Tourism in Ballyhoura

At Ballyhoura Glamping, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our commitment to responsible tourism has taken another exciting step forward as we recently completed the Level 6 Certificate in Sustainable Tourism Destinations, provided by The Tourism Space and accredited by Munster Technological University.

This course has been an incredible opportunity to deepen our understanding of sustainable tourism—looking beyond environmental efforts to consider inclusivity, accessibility, collaboration, and community-driven initiatives. Even more rewarding has been the chance to learn alongside other passionate tourism businesses from the Ballyhoura region, as well as Ballyhoura Fáilte and Fáilte Ireland, all of whom share a vision for a greener, more responsible future.

As part of Our Green Journey, we are not only working to embed sustainability into our own business but are also excited to continue this journey in collaboration with our fellow course participants. Through networking, knowledge-sharing, and collective action, we hope to position Ballyhoura as a leading sustainable tourism destination—one that celebrates its rich natural landscapes, supports local communities, and offers visitors a truly authentic and responsible travel experience.

By strengthening community connections and embracing sustainable practices together, we can ensure that Ballyhoura remains a special place to visit—not just for today’s travelers but for generations to come.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this journey!
